OnePlus 5 Confirmed Summer Launch: 7 Rumoured Specs

Amidst all the rumours about the next iteration of iPhone and Pixel devices, there is a show stealer emerging from behind — the fifth phone from OnePlus.

Rumour mills have been churning information related to the upcoming OnePlus device — dubbed the OnePlus 5.

The company has confirmed that their next flagship, which will succeed the OnePlus 3 and 3T, will hit the stands this summer.

According to a report by The Verge, OnePlus isn’t naming the next device OnePlus 5 due to the Chinese superstition of 4 being an unlucky number, rather because of Robert Horry’s number 5 jersey in the NBA.

Apparently, the employees at OnePlus’ Shenzhen office are fans of the basketball player.

OnePlus has emerged as a flagship killer — offering high-end specs at a much lower price than their competition such as Apple, Google and Samsung.

Rumoured Features of OnePlus 5

There has been no official statement on the what all features the new flagship device from OnePlus will sport, but the phone was listed on a retail site Oppomart with the following specs.

  • OS: Oxygen OS based on Android Nougat.

Other than this, earlier rumours came from Chinese site PCPop which claimed that the OnePlus 5 will sport an 8GB RAM and no physical home button.

There are a lot of rumours that’ll surface until there is some official statement from the company regarding the specifications of its upcoming device.

Nonetheless, it’s a great news for all of those who wish to go for the next OnePlus or OnePlus 3 owners who felt a bit cheated after the release of OnePlus 3T.
