Facebook has announced that they’ll be rolling out Instant Games on messenger for all of the app’s 1.2 billion monthly users worldwide for both Android and iOS.

In addition to this, the company has also made new features available for developers which will allow them to create more engaging games with rich gameplay — all inside the Messenger app.

Expect nothing less of an enthralling experience while playing Instant Games on Messenger with your friends and family — more so, if your phone has the latest hardware.

Instant Games on Messenger were first launched in the USA last year with games such as Pac-Man and Space Invaders.

“We’re starting to roll out Instant Games on Messenger more broadly and in addition, we’re also launching the new features to create a unique and sophisticated experience,” the company stated.

More games will be added to the library in the coming weeks but none of them can be downloaded, they can only be played within the Messenger app.

Talking about the rich gameplay, the company has added the much-requested turn-based games, leaderboards, tournaments and game bots to Instant Games.

“Depending on what device you use and where you are located, there are now up to 50 game titles available on Messenger, with more being introduced every week,” the company stated.

Zynga’s Word with Friends is one of the first games to be made available as a turn-based game in the Messenger app.

Blackstorm’s EverWing is another game to use the new Game bots feature which helps re-engage players by notifying them of new game features and giving leaderboard updates.

The popular gaming title, Miniclip’s 8 Ball Pool, will also be available to play on Instant Games soon.

Another thing that goes without saying is that this will also allow users to waste additional time on their phone — stuck to their screens — as if we weren’t doing that enough already.
