6 Free Games Announced for PlayStation Plus Members (May)

May is around the corner and so is the new lineup of free games for PlayStation Plus members. Sony has announced that the Instant Game Collection will be added with a few more games.

The games this time around include a game meant to relax your senses and an action game for PS4 owners that will be made available in the first week of May after the April free games will be discontinued from the collection.

Each PlayStation platform — the PS Vita, PS4, and PS3 — get two titles each, with PS4 getting an additional third and fourth one which is otherwise also available for PS Vita, courtesy to cross play.

Games for the month of May were announced a little early than Sony’s usual time schedule and it seems they’re pretty excited about their top PS4 release.

“The free PS Plus games for May are upon us, and we have something special for everyone. This month we have Tales from the Borderlands and Abzu on PS4,” the company stated.

The Lineup

  • Tales from the Borderlands (PS4)
  • Abzu (PS4)
  • Blood Knights (PS3)
  • Port Royale 3: Pirates and Merchants (PS3)
  • Laser Disco Defenders (PS Vita, cross buy with PS4)
  • Type: Rider (PS Vita, cross buy with PS4)

Like any other month, several PS Plus gamers are discontented with the selection of games being added to the Instant gaming collection but the games will be made available for free and if not much, they can be enjoyed a bit.

The first game for PS4 — Tales from the Borderlands — is a five-part episodic series set in the world of Pandora. In this game you follow the journey of Rhys and Fiona who are trying to recover a fortune that both of them believe is theirs.

Next up for PS4 is Abzu. A relaxing game which lets you immerse yourself in an ocean — full of life and wonder. Relief yourself of all the stress with this game.
