Airtel Internet TV Launched: 5 Things You Need to Know

Bharti Airtel has launched Internet TV, which is basically a new set-top box that will convert your regular TV set into a smart TV and lets you stream content on Netflix as well as YouTube, in addition to the regular TV channels.

The new Airtel Internet TV set-top box is based on Android TV and will need at least 4Mbps internet connection to be able to work fluidically.

The connection can be bought from either Amazon online store or Airtel is available to existing Airtel TV subscribers for Rs.3999 which also includes a free month of service and more.

It’ll cost Rs.4999 for new customers to buy the Airtel Internet TV set-top box with 3months of HD and SD channel subscription and Rs.7999 for 12 months subscription.

Apart from the HD and SD channels, subscribers will also get 3 months of free Eros Now subscription, 1 month of Netflix trial subscription, free TV games from Airtel and Airtel Movie subscription.

Netflix Availability

Netflix is pre-loaded on the set-top box and you can stream videos from the service using your existing Netflix ID or creating a new one which will also allow you a free trial month.

You can stream any video from the wide array of content available on the Netflix library like Narcos, The Crown, Stranger Things and much more.

Chromecast Capability

The Airtel Internet set-top box also has 4K Chromecast tech which helps you stream the contents on the smartphone to the bigger TV screen. You can even cast stuff from your tablet or laptop to your TV.

Google Voice Integration

The remote of Airtel’s new set-top box gets Google Voice integration which can help users search for anything on their mind. You just need to speak to the remote after pressing the dedicated Google Voice button on the remote and the search results will pop-up on the screen.

Connectivity and Apps

The set top box has a WiFi receiver and can also be connected to Bluetooth devices with ease. It includes the following apps: Airtel TV, Netflix, Cannonball, Google Play Store, YouTube, Google Play Music & TV, Wynk Movies

Airtel broadband customers with monthly rental less than Rs.999 will receive an additional 10GB of data while those with rentals higher than Rs.999 will receive an additional 25GB data.
