Under the Jio Summer Surprise offer, Prime members who had recharged their number with the Rs.303 tariff or higher will get three months of complimentary service till June and the purchased tariff will only kick in at the end of these three months.
The company has decided to accept TRAI’s directive and suspend the Summer Surprise offer.
“Today, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has advised Jio to withdraw the 3 months complimentary benefits of Jio Summer Surprise. Jio accepts this decision,” the company stated.

How Does This Affect You?
Discontinuation of the three months of complimentary Jio services will not affect customers who have already availed the offer by recharging with the Rs.303 tariff or of a higher value.
Alongside the announcement of the Jio Summer Surprise offer, Reliance had also recently extended the deadline for subscribing to Jio Prime membership up till April 15, which remains unaffected.
Can You Still Avail Summer Surprise Offer?
Although the company has announced that they’ll be withdrawing the offer but no timeline has been specified.
“Jio is in the process of fully complying with the regulator’s advice, and will be withdrawing the 3 months complimentary benefits of Jio Summer Surprise as soon as operationally feasible, over the next few days,” the company added.
Prime members will still be eligible to avail the complimentary services of the offer until it’s withdrawn.
Why Did Reliance Withdraw the Offer?
While their true motives are best known to them, the withdrawal comes almost nearing the deadline. This not only keeps the offer in the news but also puts some pressure on people who had been contemplating the offer.
All those who were planning on subscribing in the next week before the deadline will now be rushing towards doing the same — an unsurprising shrewd move by Mukesh Ambani.
