Oppo F3 and F3 Plus: Dual Self­ie Cam­era and 4 Oth­er Features


The Chinese smartphone company which is already defying competition in its home market is all set to launch its upcoming Oppo F3 and Oppo F3 Plus devices at an event in India on March 23, 2017.

The company has been focussing their energy on camera innovations in mobile technology and both the Oppo devices sport a dual camera setting up front.

The F3 and F3 Plus will be launched in India, Myanmar, Indonesia, Philippines and Vietnam.

“The F3 series will take selfie technology to another level as well as it sets new trends. We are confident it will be a great success and will set a standard that others will follow. At Oppo, product innovation drives everything that we do, and it is our key brand value,” said Sky Li, President of Oppo India and VP, Oppo Global.

Innovative Dual Snappers

The Oppo F3 and F3 Plus are going to be the first smartphones to sport a dual front camera setting with a 16MP and 8MP sensor. One of the sensors has a wide angle lens (120°) which would help to fit more people in a selfie.

The rear camera setup of the upcoming devices is a 16MP unit. Both the camera will have Oppo’s Beautification software.

Rumoured Features

Apart from the camera features, there have been speculations regarding the other specs of the device. Here is a roundup.

  • The device will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 652 which clocks at 1.8GHz or 653 SoC which clocks at 1.95GHz. Both are supported by Adreno 510 GPU.
  • The F3 Plus will feature a 6-inch Full HD display with a smaller version tipped for F3.
  • The devices are tipped to come in variants of 4GB RAM/32GB internal storage and 6GB RAM/64GB internal storage.
  • The device will be backed by a ginormous 4000mAh battery.
The F1 series emerged as a success for the company as the devices helped Oppo to successfully grow its offline market share from 1.2% in 2015 to 10.9% in 2016.

Oppo seems to be aiming at making camera tech innovations their strong suit as they also showcased the 5x optical zoom smartphone technology at the Mobile World Congress 2017 in Barcelona recently.
