March is here and so is the new lineup of free games for PlayStation Plus members. Sony has announced that the Instant Game Collection will be added with a few more games which include futuristic sports, magical puzzle, delivering a top-secret message while collecting papercraft models and more.
A total of six titles have been announced to be released on March 7, 2017, which will be rotated on April 4, 2017.
Each PlayStation platform — the PS Vita, PS4, and PS3 — get two titles each, with PS4 getting an additional third one which is otherwise also available for PS Vita, courtesy to cross play.
Disc Jam (PS4)
Tearaway Unfolded (PS4)
Under Night: In-Birth (PS3)
Earth Defense Force 2025 (PS3)
Lumo (PS Vita, Cross-buy on PS4)
Severed (PS Vita)
Although a lot of people have been complaining about the lineup not being up to the mark, the games will be made available for free and if not much, they can be enjoyed a bit.
The first game for PS Plus members owning a PS4 — Disc Jam — is a cross between air hockey and tennis in which players fight to retrieve glowing discs and throw them into the opposing zone ‘while unleashing powerful abilities’.
The game has just been launched on PlayStation Store but will be made available to all PlayStation Plus members.
The second one, Tearaway Unfolded for PS4, has been built upon PlayStation Vita’s Tearaway game which won three BAFTA Games awards — Artistic Achievement award, Mobile and Handheld Award, Best Family and Social game award — and was nominated in five other categories, in 2014.
“You are placed in a magical papery world and tasked with delivering a top-secret message while collecting papercraft models,” the company stated, talking about Tearaway Unfolded’s gameplay.
Lumo is a great platform puzzle game with over 100 different stages filled with traps and surprises — a great one for those who love challenging puzzles. Severed is another impressive action-packed Vita game which should be a welcome addition for Plus users.
As for PS3 additions, Under Night: In-Birth gives users a fighting game based around modern fantasy world — great addition for those who like fighting games.
Earth Defense Force 2025 might not be all that interesting, but it’s a great addition too for the times when you wish to play a mindless game — destroying buildings and killing humongous insects with a machine gun on your way to saving Earth.
