Huawei has put all rumours to rest as they unveil their P10 and P10 Plus devices at the Mobile World Congress, Barcelona. The company has put special emphasis on both the device’s camera technology — both rear and front.
Both the devices have a lot of similarities, but the bigger one of the two — P10 Plus — has a few upgrades on the smaller version.
The device will be made available in 30 countries worldwide in March 2017.
“As culture and technology continue to intersect in every aspect of our world, we want to deliver new products and experiences that ultimately improve and enhance life,” said Richard Yu, CEO, Huawei.
Both the devices run on Kirin 960 octa-core SoC which clocks at speeds up to 2.4GHz. In addition to the chipset, both the devices have the same camera specifications too — well, almost.
Both, the P10 and P10 Plus, get a Leica dual-camera for its rear snapper with a 12MP unit and another 20MP monochrome unit. In an industry first, the 8MP front camera also gets a Leica lens.
Both the device cameras are equipped for artistic portraits with precise 3D facial detection, dynamic illumination, portrait enhancements and creating a bokeh effect.
The only difference in their camera unit is that while the P10 gets Leica Dual-camera 2.0, the P10 Plus gets Leica Dual-camera 2.0 Pro edition.
“Our impressive new Huawei P10 and P10 Plus weave together the exceptional imaging capabilities of Leica and our stand-out design and hardware innovations to bring users a powerful device experience,” Yu added.
The P10 and P10 Plus will run on Android Nougat out-of-the-box and feature a 2.5D Gorilla Glass 5 for added protections.
While the P10 gets a 5.1-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) display at 432ppi, the P10 Plus boasts a 5.5-inch display at 540ppi and a 2K screen resolution (2560 x 1440).
Storage and Memory
Both the devices come with 64GB internal storage and 4GB RAM, but the P10 Plus gets an option of a 128GB built-in storage with 6GB RAM.
The bigger P10 Plus is powered by a 3750mAh battery while the smaller P10 gets 3200mAh worth of juice, which is still an upgrade on the P9.
The 64GB versions of P10 and P10 Plus are available for €649 (Rs.46,000) and €699 (Rs.49,000), respectively. The 128GB version of the P10 Plus is available for €799 (Rs.56,000).
Both the devices will be made available in an array of colours: Ceramic White, Dazzling Blue, Dazzling Gold, Graphite Black, Mystic Silver, Rose Gold, Greenery. The P10 gets Prestige Gold as an exclusive colour for itself.
The P10 and P10 Plus will be launched in the following countries: Australia, Austria, Chile, China, Columbia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Thailand, Turkey, UAE, United Kingdom, Vietnam.
