The company hopes to replicate that success and sell a larger number of their Note 4 devices in 2017.
Redmi Note 4 was launched last week at an event in New Delhi and if its sale number on the first day are something to go by, the company might already be on its way to breaking previous year’s record set by Note 4’s predecessor.
According to the company, the online sale on Flipkart and MI’s official website has gone on to put a record-breaking performance on the day of its sale as the company claims it to be the biggest online sale ever.
Xiaomi’s official e-commerce partner site Flipkart went on to reveal that this was the biggest online sale of any smartphone in India — as per their data — as the site garnered north of 2 million unique visitors to the Redmi Note 4 page and had also received more than a million requests by customers to be notified of the sale going live.
The three variants of the Redmi Note 4 are being sold for Rs.9,999 (32GB/2GB RAM), Rs.10,999 (32GB/3GB RAM) and Rs.12,999 (64GB/4GB RAM). The device has been made available in three colours: Matte Black, Dark Grey and Gold.
The phone has a 5.5″ Full-HD display with 2.5D Arc screen design, a 13MP quick-response primary camera and a 5MP front camera. The device works on Android Marshmallow-based MIUI8 out of the box with Nougat based-MIUI9 update on the way soon.
The next sale for the device is scheduled to begin on January 30 on Flipkart and February 3 on Mi.com.
