The company has also announced that it’ll be launching more Android-based devices in the first half of 2017.
“The Nokia 6 is a result of listening to our consumers who desire a beautifully crafted handset with exceptional durability, entertainment and display features. Our ambition is to deliver a premium product, which meets consumer needs at every price point, in every market,” said Arto Nummela, CEO, HMD Global.
The unibody Nokia 6 is made of a single block of aluminium 6000 series and hence will be as sturdy a device that the brand name is known to produce.
Grand Display with Polarizer Layer
Nokia 6’s comes with a bright hybrid in-cell 5.5″ Full HD display unit, which is protected inside a 2.5D Gorilla Glass casing. The display is laminated together with a polarizer layer which gives the phone a slimmer look as well as enables sunlight readability.
Snapdragon 430 Processor with X6 LTE
The phone is powered by the latest generation of octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor with X6 LTE modem, which is built for phones with high speaker volumes as well as delivers a better battery life. The SoC clocks at 1.4GHz and is supported by Adreno 505 GPU.
Memory at par with the Age
Like most of the devices this year, and as is the new trend, the Nokia 6 comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB inbuilt memory for your storage needs. You can even expand the storage by 128GB in order to accommodate more images or videos via a microSD card.
Amplified Sound Quality
The dual amplifiers on the Nokia 6 deliver sounds at 6dB louder than a regular amp, ensuring deeper bass, higher voice and unmatched clarity. Dolby Atmos technology integrated with the devices audio system creates powerful, moving audio.
The Nokia 6 packs a 16MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera. The rear camera comes with phase detection and autofocus tech enabling sharp and detailed pictures. The f/2.0 aperture lenses and exclusive camera UI with automatic scene detection make it easy to take great shots every time.
The long awaited shift that Nokia should’ve made long ago before it dived into the abyss of non-android devices, but now the Nokia 6 runs on Google’s latest offering Android 7 Nougat.
The home button of the device also houses the fingerprint scanner and is backed up by a 3000 mAh battery. The device won’t be available in India right now and is only available to Chinese consumers for CNY 1699 at JD.com.
