All those who opened Flipkart today would have been greeted with a great news in the form of a banner on the site which reads that OnePlus 3 will be available for Rs. 1_,999 during 18-21 December — Flipkart’s big shopping day.

This means that Flipkart will be selling the device for less than Rs. 20,000, though it’s priced at Rs. 27,999 on Amazon, which also happens to have exclusive rights to sell the device.

CEO of OnePlus company, Carl Pei, has tweeted Flipkart’s owner Sachin Bansal enquiring about the deal stating, “Brother, What’s this? We’re exclusive with Amazon India”.

It’s unclear now whether this is a way for Flipkart to attract the audience’s attention or another unconventional method to popularise its product by OnePlus.

If you click on the offer banner, you’ll be taken to a page which shows a OnePlus 3(64 GB) for Rs. 27,999 and also mentions that it’s ‘Coming Soon’ and not on sale yet.

OnePlus has confirmed that Flipkart sale isn’t an official step. Read below for more.

Carl Pei has confirmed that this isn’t an official sale by the company and stated that ‘We would never betray the trust by dropping prices like this’.

OnePlus has issued an official statement which says, “OnePlus is focused on creating premium flagship smartphones. We have an exclusive partnership with Amazon in India. We advise customers to purchase OnePlus products only through official channels as we cannot guarantee the authenticity of the products sold elsewhere.”

OnePlus 3 was launched earlier this year, but with the launch of the company’s new flagship device — the OnePlus 3T — the former has become less popular than before.

There were claims that the device might be discontinued after the new flagship launch, which is priced just Rs. 2000 above its predecessor, and also sports various upgrades such as a snappier processor, better front camera, more onboard memory and a larger battery.

The company has denied reports suggesting that OnePlus 3 will be discontinued in India, as it has been in the US and European markets, and have suggested that both the phones are two variants of the same device and will receive future updates together.

The OnePlus 3T is available on the company’s website alongwith loads of other accessories to support your phone or just make you look good.
