HMD Global has announced the first two Nokia phones that are going to be launched in the first quarter of 2017, and they are certainly not what you would have expected. Welcome home the Nokia 150 and Nokia 150 dual-sim.
Although both of these are feature-phones and isn’t what you would expect as a comeback from the most popular phone company — that Nokia once was — but staying true to the company’s values, they’re ready to launch a phone for everyone.
The phone is expected to be priced around Rs.2000 in the Indian market (currently priced at US$26) and here are four things you should know about Nokia’s upcoming device.
It’s as Strong as You Would Expect a Nokia To Be
The phone is designed using a polycarbonate shell that can take anything life throws at it, including you throwing the phone at a wall or in worst cases at someone.
The company also claims that the colour on the body of Nokia 150 is scratch resistant, which means that your device won’t lose its colour even when clawed upon on or dragged.
You Get A Camera – Sort of – With Flash
The camera is a VGA (640*480), with a LED flash and as disappointing as this might sounds, the price tag justifies it. Something is better than nothing — well, not every time.
The 2.4″ QVGA (320*240) display will help you decipher the shots, and you can share these using the Bluetooth connectivity of the device.
A Battery Life That Doesn’t Disappoint
The company claims that the 1020 mAh battery sustains for 31 days on standby and supports 22 hours of talk time on its single sim variant and 25 days of standby in their dual sim variant.
You can also listen to Mp3s for 40 hours and FM for 56 hours on the device. You can use any micro-USB charger to juice up your Nokia 150.
Music to Your Ears
The device also houses an FM Radio and MP3 application which will surely be useful for your daily commute, and you can store thousands of your favourite tune using the expandable microSD slot which can support cards up to 32GB.
You can use your choice of earphones as the phone also has a 3.5mm jack.
What’s more? You can even enjoy a little playtime with the classic Snake Xenzia game on your device, and you’ll even get a trial version of Gameloft’s Nitro Racing, which you can later buy.
The phone weighs just 81 g alongwith the battery, making it a pocket-friendly companion — both easy on the wallet and small in your pocket.
The Nokia 150 is a durable device, a hallmark product from the company which is known to make great feature phones and can prove to an excellent addition to its line of feature phones which include the Nokia 105, Nokia 216 and Nokia 230.
