Paytm announces 100% Cashback at Select Health Clinics

One of the fastest growing mobile wallets since demonetisation struck the Indian economy, Paytm has added yet another feather to their cap with the announcement of 100% cashback at hospitals, pathology labs and clinics in NCR.

The mobile wallet service which recently announced having successfully associated a million merchants to its wallet service has come up with an offer that’ll see customers receive a 100% cash back on every transaction they make at an affiliated hospital or clinic.

Cash flow has been hindered as its hard to even find an ATM which will dispense cash, this move will see the mobile wallet company dive into the health services and contribute a little more to their social good factor.

Few Things To Know Before Using Paytm at Hospital and Clinics

  • One can only avail cashback over a minimum transaction of Rs. 200.
  • The maximum cashback amount has been set at Rs. 500.
  • Don’t panic if you don’t receive the cashback instantly, it usually takes 48 hours for the amount to be credited back to your account.
  • At this moment, the offer is only valid in the National Capital Region (Delhi NCR).
  • The cashback offer ends on December 31, 2016.

A majority of the Paytm affiliated health care institutions include dental care centres, namely Star Dental Centre in various localities in New Delhi.

Looking at their list, one will surely recommend the company to add more hospitals and clinics, especially the ones which provide general health care facilities.

Here’s How You Can Help Your Local Merchant Accept Paytm

Having trouble obtaining your regular grocery supplies from the local merchant downstairs? Or procuring stuff from the local Paan shop?

You can actually help merchants around you receive payments via Paytm and make your life a little bit easier too.

You can do this via either one of these two easy steps:

  • Save an image of the Paytm merchant ad (such as the one below, available in 10 Indian languages) on your device and send it via Whatsapp to the merchant and tell them to contact call 7210972109 if they need added information.
  • Help Paytm in reaching out to the concerned shopkeeper themselves. Just Whatsapp the Shop’s name, location and phone number of the merchant to 8130888197

Mobile wallets are experiencing an unprecedented surge in the number of users and merchants transacting using the service, but it remains to be seen that at what point companies like Paytm stop offering incentives such as cash backs and start charging for the services provided.

Paytm’s discontinued app POS feature was closed within a day of its launch citing security concerns.

Cash will remain the primary mode of payment due to its relative ease of use, in the years to come, as internet penetration in India is still only close to 30%.
