Following suit to numerous mobile wallet services, Ola has stepped up its game and is now trying to expand by getting more merchants to get affiliated with Ola Money.
Apart from paying for your rides on Ola Cabs using Ola Money, till now the app also offered various other options like mobile recharges and postpaid bill payments, recharging DTH services, Mumbai Metro card, having a coffee at CCD or enjoying Italian delights at Domino’s or Pizza Hut and a few more merchants.

Ola has also teamed up with financial institutions such as Punjab National Bank, State Bank of India and Andhra Bank to provide mobile ATM service to the citizenry in Kolkata and Hyderabad.
Much to the respite of millions affected by the recent demonetisation move by the Indian government, the mobile ATM service was a huge hit among residents of the respective cities as they received added options to withdraw cash, which is hard to come by these days.
Before that, last week the India-based transport giant had started Ola Play. Through this service, they gave customers the power to play the music of their choice and watch videos too in the cab they’re riding.
The Ola app syncs your phone with the cab’s entertainment system and you can either tune into your favourite radio channel, get in the groove with your favourite soundtracks or watch a video of your choice as Ola gets you to your destination.
Mobile wallets are an increasing necessity in the current situation where cash flow has decreased due to demonetisation and services such as Ola can benefit a lot from this, not only in monetary terms but such times can help the company build a loyal customer base.
