Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus has unveiled its latest flagship model — the 3T — on 15th November 11:30 pm (IST) in a live event on Facebook. There are a number of features that it borrows from its predecessor as well as a few upgrades.
The OnePlus 3T has the same design specs as the OnePlus 3 and weighs the same too. It sports the same Adreno 530 GPU, a 6 GB RAM, a full HD 5.5″ AMOLED screen and runs on a tweaked version of Android Marshmallow-based Oxygen OS, much like its predecessor.

The new flagship model of the OnePlus series comes with an advanced Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chipset, which clocks at 2.35 GHz. This is an upgrade to the Snapdragon 820 chipset used on the OnePlus 3 device, which clocked at 2.15 GHz.
2. Increased Room For Your Memories, Music and More
The new OnePlus 3T is going to be launched in two variants — 64 GB and 128 GB. Its predecessor was launched with only a 64GB option.
3. Click Vibrant Selfies with the 16MP Secondary Camera
The OnePlus 3T gets the same 16MP primary camera as its predecessor, but there has been a significant upgrade on the secondary camera (or the front camera). The new device sports a 16MP front camera, fitted with Samsung 3P8SP sensors, while the OnePlus 3 had an 8MP front cam.
4. More Power To You
The new device comes fitted with a 34oo mAh battery, which is an upgrade on the 3000 mAh battery sported by its predecessor. This means you can use the new device for longer hours than you could’ve used the OnePlus 3.
Although there has been an increase in the battery power, no changes can be seen in the device’s overall weight, which stays the same at 158g.
There haven’t been a lot many changes between the two models, just a few tweaks here and there.
It’s safe to say that the new device borrows heavily from its predecessor, except for the four changes listed above.
The starting price of the device is $439 (approximately INR 29790), as mentioned on its official Twitter handle. It’ll be available for purchase from the OnePlus Store on November 22 in the USA and Canada and November 28 in Europe. India release is yet to be announced.
The company claims that the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T are ‘two versions of the same phone’ and will receive software updates together.
There was a lot of speculation about 3T getting Android Nougat-based Oxygen OS, but the company has cleared the air by stating that both the devices will get a Nougat update later this year.
