3 Cool iPad Apps for Elementary School Students

Elementary Learning Apps

If you have an iPad at home that your children use every now and then (or most of the time, usually), then you surely know that iPads are not only for playing games and watching videos. They can also be excellent learning tools, especially for kids in elementary school. In fact, you can use them to have your children practice (or even learn) most subjects covered in elementary level and even teach them novel ideas and concepts in a way that is easy to understand.

With that in mind, we created a list of three great iPad apps for elementary school students that you will definitely find useful if you happen to have kids within that age range.

Let’s take a look at them.

BrainPOP Jr. Movie of the Week

Without a doubt, movies are one of the easiest and most effective ways to learn. This is even truer when it comes to kids, since movies provide both audio and visuals, which in turn increases the chances of remembering content.

Spelling City

If you are looking for a simple, yet thorough way for your kids to improve their vocabulary, then Spelling City is what you need.

This free vocabulary app lets you explore a wide range of words in a very organized way. When you open the app, it presents you with a list of different grades that you can choose from in order to have a list of words better targeted to your kids. Once you make your choice from that list, the category you choose on the right panel will display words adequate for children on that age-range.

Restaurant 2

When done right, a learning game can be one of the most effective learning tools out there. This is precisely what Restaurant 2 accomplishes with a game that, while on the surface is simply about cooking for others, is in fact a great way to learn about food ingredients, the basics of cooking a dish and the importance of balanced meals.

The game casts you as the main character: A cute panda chef that runs a small food shop on an island. As you get customers, you role is to prepare the perfect dish for each of them using the right ingredients in the right proportions.
