Well, there have been quite a few applications for iOS that improve or ease the way people work or do things. The AppStore is currently crowded with a number of such apps and the list just keeps growing. And today we will list 5 such apps which will improve your work flow. We have tried to go beyond the popular apps and have showcased apps that are relatively unknown yet work well. The list contains both free and paid apps.

1. Numbers

Numbers for iOS is a handy little app to keep track of your figures accurately. It’s more or less like MS Excel or any other alternatives you have around but only cooler and easier to use. The app is very handy as you would expect from an app developed by Apple. The interface is pretty neat and the app does what it’s supposed to do fairly well. This app costs $9.99 on the iTunes AppStore.

2. SugarSync

SugarSync as most of you might know is a more than decent cloud based app which lets you store your data like music, videos, doc files and more on the cloud. The app seamlessly syncs with your Mac or PC. And every time you add new files or edit the existing files on your desktop, it gets synced to the cloud so you can access it from any of your PC or iOS device. SugarSync for iOS is a free app, so go ahead and give this app a try.

3. Things

Things is a very useful productivity app which lets you take notes and keep track of things accordingly. The reviews for this app have been better than great and that is what we expect from an app of this caliber. And syncing is possible with the desktop version of Things, so that makes it a great tool to set reminders and project dates if any. This app will set you back by $9.99, but it’s worth the purchase.

4. Wunderlist

Wunderlist is yet another cool productivity app to keep note of all your daily stuff. You can do a lot more than just setting up reminders though. With the ability to set tasks and prioritize them, Wunderlist takes care of all your necessary meetings or to-do stuffs that you can’t afford to miss. Users can also add wallpapers which come bundled with the app. All the tasks will be synced with the free Wunderlist account that is provided with the app. This app is available for free in the AppStore.

5. TouchCalc

We have had enough of note apps already. Let’s move on to something refreshing and which would come to great use in your everyday routine. TouchCalc, as the name suggests, is a calculator app for iOS, but it’s not your regular calculator application that you find scattered all over the AppStore. If you’re an engineer or a regular math geek with intense calculations to do, then TouchCalc is your thing. The app is available for free in the AppStore. Also, the app is compatible with both the iPod Touch and the iPad.

Have you used any of these apps? If yes what do you think?

Also, let us know in the comments about the apps we have left out. Productivity is a big niche and I’m sure there are many more great apps out there that help you speed up things in your everyday life.

Nice write-up Chethan!

We think our app (LifeTopix – http://www.lightarrow.com/lifetopix) should be on the list too. Unlike Things which focuses only on task management, LifeTopix manages all the important information in your life, including tasks & projects, service providers, events, trips, shopping, education, finances, bookmarks, media, notes & files, and health & activity logs. While there are lots of apps on the market for managing each of those types of things individually, LifeTopix is the first app to manage them together using an integrated design that lets you be more productive and get more done with less effort.

It is a universal app and it even has a free desktop client that lets you access the information on your device from your desktop. It integrates with 3rd party tools like Dropbox, Google Docs, Facebook, and Twitter. Evernote integration and device-to-device sync via iCloud will be released soon.

Take a look and let us know what you think!

I haven’t heard of Wunderlist before so will have to give it a try! I’ve been using built in iOS 5 Reminders apps (which is v good but lacking in some features).
