What’s Your Favorite Antivirus Tool? [Reader Poll]

Although Windows 7 is considered to be much more secure than its predecessors, an antivirus tool is still a necessity for your system. Most of the antivirus tools aren’t that effective in immediate detection of new threats, but they do help if something strikes your PC that’s a part of their virus database.

There’s no dearth of antivirus tools. And the recent acquisition of Mcafee by Intel proves that the antivirus business is flourishing and everyone wants to get a share of the pie.

So, here’s our question (and the poll) for today: what’s the antivirus tool you use on your computer?

I’m a huge fan of Microsoft’s Security Essentials. It seems to have a very low impact on system performance and many of my friends who I have recommended it to (some of which are less than technologically inclined) have seen it catch threats quickly and prevent problems.

I have to agree with you. Microsoft Security Essentials works exactly the way an antivirus should work.
