We have talked about some task automation tools in the past, including tools that can automatically shutdown your computer after a specific interval of time. But all of them are timer dependent and that’s what makes TimeComX different. This tool can trigger a shutdown, hibernation, log off or alarm based on the percentage usage of processor or network.

TimeComX is pretty feature-rich automation tool. It could shutdown or restart your PC, put it on hibernation or suspend mode, log off or lock it, play a wake up alarm, execute files and do much more.
Lets check out its interface and see what all options are there in this tool.
In the main interface of the program, you can see the “Event” and “Task” tab. The former tab lets you set the trigger, and as you can guess, the latter one is used to define the task that needs to be automatically executed.

Let’s check out the options in the “Event” tab at first. You can choose a proper mode for the automation task. While “Simple Counter”, “Advanced Counter” and “Time of day” are time-related, the “Usage / Activity” is a particular one, which can use triggers like CPU usage, network bandwidth and keyboard & mouse activity.
With “Usage / Activity” mode, you can set to automatically perform the defined task when processor usage or network bandwidth is lower than a specific percentage, or the keyboard & mouse is idle more than a few seconds.

Now you can switch to the “Task” tab. There are some automation tasks provided, like “Restart”, “Shutdown”, “Lock Computer”, “Log Off”, “Run File”, and “Play Audio File”. You can select a trigger and choose the options accordingly.

The tools icon on the top bar lets you customize the “Countdown Notification”, something you can set to pop up when a pre-set command is about to run.

Overall, this is definitely something you would want to try if you automate tasks like restart and shutdown on a frequent basis.
