When you type any letter in the address bar, web forms or username field, your browser helps you by showing previously entered values in a drop down interface. This feature is known autocomplete. The feature’s useful but you might want to disable it in case you don’t work in a completely private environment.
In the below screenshot I typed gui in the address field and the browser suggests previously opened articles containing letters gui.

This article will show you how to disable this feature in the latest version of Internet Explorer.
1. On IE, go to Tools-> Internet Options.

2. Go to content tab. Under AutoComplete, click on “Settings” button.

AutoComplete settings dialog box appears. There are various check boxes there. Uncheck the box next to Address bar if you want to disable AutoComplete in address bar. Similarly uncheck other boxes according to your preference.

Tip: You may want to keep the box next to Forms checked if you want your browser to remember typed passwords and data filled in web forms.
Restart your browser. Now when you write any word in the address bar, you will not get any suggestion.
